Work & Trips with my Stanley

In 1967, when I went to Vietnam as a Seabee, I used military tools to build with. I sent home for my personal hammer and my Stanley unbreakable thermos. I was the envy of my platoon with my thermos full of either hot coffee, cold water or ice cream when our ice cream maker was working. I carried that into the field.

Unfortunately, 8 months into my tour I was riding in the back of a 6 by truck when my Stanley bounced out of my hand off the truck and was run over by the tracks of an armored personnel carrier following behind.

I have worked as a carpenter and carried a Stanley for 40 years. That is the only time I had to replace a Stanley because of damage. I WOULDN’T THINK OF GOING TO WORK OR ON A TRIP WITHOUT MY STANLEY :).
