Many miles
I'm a Locomotive Engineer. When I started this job I saw each beat up, scratched and dented Stanley bottle as a status symbol. After 20 years, mine is one of the status symbols. I had a new employee comment on it last week saying that he can't wait until his is that beat up. I told him it takes many miles before his will tell the stories this one will.
