My Stanley is the reason I lock my truck !

It is true , I value my beloved Stanley thermos so much , that it is the reason why I lock my truck doors. If my Stanley was stolen I would be devastated. I bought mine when I graduated from high school in 1975. My father always carried one, as did his father . When my grandfather passed away, the one thing I wanted to remember him with, was his old Stanley thermos. He was a painter by trade , so his thermos is covered with all colors of paint. It is stamped 1957 on the bottom - the year I was born ! Some day I'll get my Father's . He has always carried the two quart model. My Dad bought his in the late sixties.

Twenty years ago or so mine stopped doing such a good job at keeping my coffee hot. I took off the chrome bottom ring and the insulation had settled. I took some fiberglass insulation and stuffed it tight and glued the bottom on! There is no better thermos bottle out there than my own.

I am self employed in the logging business and my Stanley is always beside me. No matter what machine I am running, or if I'm driving truck, or conducting business out of my pickup, my Stanley is always right there beside me. It quit being green a long time ago. It has been shiny for many years. When I walk into a cafe, I set it down on the counter and ask the waitress to fill it up. I always get a comment from them, about how worn my Stanley is. They'll ask if I want hot water in first to heat it up,and I'll reply that it doesn't need it, just pour in some coffee.

Thanks Stanley for making a great product and standing by it. I would truly be devastated if something happened to mine, but I would turn around and buy another one in a heartbeat !!
