A few years before my grandfather retired from working in the underground coal mines he purchased a new Stanley Thermos to take with him to work. When he retired he gave it to my father who was working in the mines. It suffered some cruel treatment and received a large dent in the side, but still works great. My father retired and passed it on to me, and I've carried it underground only until I realized how sentimental it was and that I'd rather not loose it. If you work in an underground coal mines you know Stanley is the only thermos that will survive the harsh conditions and mistreatment, that's why you'll see so many of them being carried in every shift. Thanks for making a great thermos.
