When I was camping, a bear came in to the camp site. I woke up, reached for my Stanley, and turned in the dark to hit the bear. I ended up hitting my wife on the head. Well, she turned and whacked me on the side of my head. That hurt more than any bear! My Stanley reminds me of my wife...TOUGH!

My favorite Stanley memory is:
I own almost every thermos Stanley makes. At work, if I leave my thermos they know who it belongs to ME. I even have the microwaveable Stanley thermos with the wide mouth. Just recently, my husband bought me a pink Stanley thermos for my hot cocoa. When I was a little girl, my Dad and I used to go to see the Buffalo Bills play in my hometown of Buffalo. We used to make the hot cocoa that we would then share with the fabulous hot dogs we bought that were covered in mustard and relish while wrapping ourselves in the blankets. One time, I remember Dennis Shaw was the Quarterback for the Bills. Dad and I cheered for our Bills, who were doing exceptionally well that season. We almost lost the hot cocoa when we jumped up when dad and I got too excited. It rolled down and Dad caught it before it went between our feet. He was so fast to catch that thermos, it seemed like seconds. After that day, I teased dad every season when we would go watch the Bills, sipping out of our thermos and having hot dogs. When I see the old Green thermos with narrow neck and the scratches on that thermos, I remember when Dad and I used to be able to watch the Buffalo Bills at the stadium. My dad isn't with me anymore, and it’s been a long time since I've seen the Bills at the stadium. I am a True Believer in the Stanley thermos.

My favorite Stanley memory is:
My parents were teachers and every summer in the 1970s’, we would load up the used vehicle we happened to own at that time, fill it with 80 cents a gallon gas, double-check the locks on the house, and then drive off into the sunset for a two-month road trip across country. During that drive, we would visit relatives, stay in campgrounds, and stop at those strange roadside attractions offering the world’s biggest ball of string or more notable locations like Yellowstone National Park. During those road trip adventures, I recall the trusty Stanley Thermos sitting between my parents, which harbored hot steamy roadside pumped coffee. Like an old friend, that Stanley thermos went with us everywhere until finally I went off to college. My parents eventually moved and that Stanley moved with them. Twenty years later, it still sits in the coffee cabinet of my parents’ house. An old friend.

I drive a semi for a living, one morning somewhere around 3am I stopped for a short break in Tucson, AZ. I grabbed my Stanley bottle from its perch and headed inside the Flying-j truck stop for some breakfast. After breakfast, I had my Stanley filled up with coffee and proceeded back to my truck. After arriving at my truck, I had trouble getting my keys out of my pocket, so I laid my Stanley on the fuel tank of the truck, after I got the door unlocked I climbed into the truck and proceeded to leave the truck stop, when another driver informed me via the CB radio that I had just ran over my Stanley bottle! I told him I had 44,000 pounds of weight on my truck and I did not think the bottle would be worth stopping for. But I did it any way and to my surprise the only damage that I saw was the cup that screws on was crushed!! Well after many years of service, I am retiring my Old Stanley to my Wife and I bought a new one for myself. Thank you and your company for giving me a GREAT Product that lasted way beyond the warranty ends...

My Stanley Classic has served many uses over the years. I originally purchased it while I was still in high school to carry hot liquids to work. At that time, I worked in a department store. After graduation, it carried hot liquids to many a construction site from heavy equipment operator, to laborer, to carpenter, to electrician, and to general construction work. After a few short years I quit the construction field. My Stanley has been on many hunting ventures from South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana, Alabama, Texas, and Arizona. It has even survived the rigors and extreme temperature changes experienced in year around Alaskan hunting and fishing ventures. It has been on all recreational excursions throughout Alaska for over eight years. It has even survived two tours of duty in Vietnam.

My favorite Stanley memory is:
I bought my first Stanley in 1984. I was just 18 and had enlisted in the Army, stationed at FT. Knox, KY. I was a Tank driver. I spent many a day in the field and most of those hours at night. Naturally, I had my Stanley full of coffee. The m1 Abrams (now a retired tank) had a top speed of 50 miles an hour. Most of all my equipment was down in the driver’s hole with me. My Stanley would go through the whole night getting as beat up as me. I had gotten a lot of scratches and dings on it, but you just couldn't kill it. On one night, it had gotten pinned between the driver’s hole and the turret of the tank, by the time I yelled at the gunner to wait, it was too late! He had crushed the side of my thermos. It never pierced the inside. The coffee was still safe and hot. I carried that mashed thermos for years. We all used to say that it was tougher than the tanks we drove! I drive a truck now, I still carried my Stanley until recently, I lost my thermos at a truck stop. I had to break down and buy a new one (still nothing wrong with the old one!). It looks like the thermos has changed some since 1984, but I hope to get this one to last until I retire! Thank you for a GOOD quality thermos I can count on!

I have used the 32 ounce thermos since 1987, for my home brewed tea (from Kenya) with milk. I wake up, make the tea and I have hot tea several times a day. This includes the 4 PM tea time engraved in my brain since the days in high school. In 2001, I went to visit family in Kenya and took my prized Stanley for use there. I asked my mom to keep it there for whenever I visit. I have gone there every other year and still have my hot tea. I bought another thermos after returning from Kenya in 2001 and last month my dear wife got tired of the peeling paint and rust and asked me to use another brand. Yesterday morning, I put the thermos on the drive way and it tipped over, fell on the concrete and the glass shattered. I left home without my tea and remembering how many times my Stanley has fallen off my car from the top, hood etc. This morning, I got my old rusted thermos and I have tea all day. Stainless steel versus glass...thanks Stanley.

I had a great Stanley coffee thermos which I used every day for work, plus for fishing and other activities on weekend. I actually have four thermoses that are Stanley’s, but last Friday night, I went fishing with my brother-in-law and it started to storm so we pulled into the dock and went and stood in the park with some other fishermen and chatted about fishing and life in general until the rain quit. We then went back to the boat and went home. Two days later, I realized I had left my favorite thermos sitting in the park along with a coffee cup that is thermal also. Needless to say, it was long gone and I had to go find a new one and try to replace it.

In Franklin Ohio at the sewing Factory everyone would say, “Your coffee is steaming hot. My thermos doesn’t keep coffee that hot.” I laughed and said “Silly, you don’t have a Stanley thermos that’s why yours isn’t hot. You need to buy you one; it's well worth the money you spend on it. Here try some of my coffee.” And it still tastes Mmmm Mmmm good & so she tried some of mine. She said “Man I gotta get me one of them I can’t believe this.” I told her my Daddy used Stanley for as long as I can remember. He wouldn't use anything but Stanley. The story behind my first Stanley was that it got left behind in my divorce, and I have missed it so much. My new Husband has two coffee thermoses. I have used them at work but they didn't keep my coffee hot so I quit taking them to work. I started getting fresh coffee at work in the mornings but it wasn’t enough to keep me awake, because I could only get one at 9:00am and 10:30 am then they would turn it off. So I promised myself that when it was vacation time, I would & go buy me another one and today that’s what I did. :) I wouldn’t take anything for mine. Now I can have some good hot coffee on my breaks. I love it. You should buy one. I promise you won’t regret it. Annie

My dad has always used Stanley products and so did his dad before him. For as long as I can remember, he has had a Stanley thermos and he uses it everyday and it has so many dents and dings and so many stories behind it. But one sticks in my mind more than any others. We were out in his fishing boat in the ocean and he dropped his thermos.....the waves took it and it was gone. The next week we went surf fishing and found the thermos lying in the sand. He was so happy that was the first time in as long as he could remember that he lost it.

I work for the US Forest Service. I was a firefighter in the field for 16 years and noticed early in my career that the coffee-holics that had been around awhile had Stanley steel thermoses that they would keep on the fire engine so they'd have coffee on those long night-shifts on wildfires. I acquired one of my own around 1990 and was very happy with it. One day in 1992, I inadvertently left it sitting on the running board of the fire truck when we took off...there was a bump and I jumped out to find it laying in the road; the cup was smashed, half the stopper rim was gone and the was a big dent in the side of the body...plus some missing finish. But it had not broken open. I continued to use it for 4 years before replacing it with a new one, mainly because I moved into an office job and decided I needed one that was prettier...the original one was still perfectly functional. Great product, never want to be without one!

Well one day on my way to work, I must of left my STANLEY on top of my car, because when I got to work my STANLEY was no where to be seen. Well about 10 days later, on the side of the road where the state had just cut the grass on my way home I thought I saw my STANLEY. I stopped and there it was. It was bent, cut, dragged. But it still had coffee it. With me, STANLEY is number one. So I got my new on 06-03-06. All I can say is thank you STANLEY CO.

My favorite Stanley memory is:
I grew up watching my mother pack lunches every morning for the entire family. And that included a Stanley thermos full of piping hot soup (or whatever) for my dad. First she boiled water, filled the Stanley thermos to the brim, and let it sit while the rest of the lunches were prepared. After everything else was done, the last thing she did was empty the Stanley and fill it with hot soup, chili, stew, etc. This routine was repeated for at least 15 years. My father passed away in February 2004 and my mother passed away in November 2005. The last years of their life, they lived with and were cared for by my sister, so naturally, she inherited that thermos. It is still in use at her home, her work and whenever she and her husband take a day to play on their houseboat. Since Katrina, my family has had a growing concern that we be prepared for natural disasters. We are in the process of creating a 72-hour emergency kit (New Orleans residents suffered for 3 full days--72 hours--before significant help arrived). As we have contemplated what equipment is most essential, and portable/versatile, in emergency preparedness, I thought immediately of the Stanley Thermos, and just yesterday bought the first of several intended Stanley products. And why did I buy a Stanley? Memories of my dad's soup!! To properly christen my new Stanley, I brought it home, washed it out, boiled water to fill it to the brim, let it sit while I brought 3/4 cup of wheat berries, 3 cups of water and 1/4 tsp salt to a boil. I then drained my Stanley and filled it will the boiled wheat berries/water mixture. After securing the lids, I tipped Stanley on its side, gave a little shake to distribute the contents and went off to bed. And now, as I write this little story, I am munching a delicious, nutritious breakfast of beautifully puffed wheat berries, skimmed milk and brown sugar. My breakfast cost me about a nickel, including the cost of electricity to boil the water. Stanley Thermos goes beyond a cup of coffee and a day at the office or a day at play. Stanley Thermos can literally save one's life when disaster strikes.

In the beginning... my father had a Stanley. He was a public school special education teacher for over 20 years. Every memory I had of him going to school, or when I visited with him in the summer right before the school started, he had his Stanley with him. His Stanley had signs, not of destruction, but of indestructibility! Never have I seen something so worn yet seemingly untouched! Many people nowadays will throw something away when it gets worn... When a Stanley is scratched, dented and splattered with paint, it is not time to get rid of it, it’s just getting worn in! When I became an adult, I dreamed of when I could get my own Stanley and have my own memories. I am an EMT, and my coffee stays warm from 0445 until I finish it--whenever I have time to drink it. Stanley stands for quality, durability and memories. No matter how old a Stanley is, or what new indestructible plastic water bottle comes out, you can never destroy a Stanley. I will put my Stanley up to any other bottle, in any climate. If it's hot, it will stay hot. If it's cold, it will stay cold. If you drop it, it will never leak... Try that with any water bottle. My Stanley is getting good use. Nothing so worn has ever looked so good!

My husband has two Stanley thermos bottles one of which will be 20 years old next year. The thermos looks as though it has gone through a war zone. Most of the green color has been rubbed off and it has so many dents that I really don't know how it still functions - but of the two bottles he has, this one is his favorite. He says it keeps coffee hot better than the new ones. I have tried to get him to retire it because it looks really bad but no way will he give it up. The stopper has been broken on one side for over a year now and we have tried to find a replacement - but haven't had any luck. He was so pleased when I told him I thought I had found a replacement stopper for him. Thank you Stanley for a product that keeps on working.

Crabbing through the Bering Sea ice in the winter at ten below can be very challenging at times. An old buddy and I decided to try hand-lining for crab 40 miles down the coast. Taking along crab bait usually freezes going that distance behind in my sled. So I looked at my Stanley and it was the right length to transport my bait in. The bait stayed thawed and we caught crab that day. My old buddy said your thermos saved the day.

I have taken my Stanley around the world, first with the Navy then with the army. I have dropped it 1000's of times, lost the handle over 10 years ago and can’t remember the last time it had a cup. I also cannot remember going anywhere without it! Currently on it's 3rd coat of desert tan paint with olive drab duct tape covering up the bright non tactical stainless! My soldiers would not know what to think if I didn’t have my Stanley with me, they call it the bomb. I guess it kinda looks like it was bombed, but it still works perfectly and I can’t stand the thought of replacing her. I still have a new one in the box that my daughters got me for Christmas a few years ago and it will stay there until my best friend wanders off someday.

In 1990, the food chain I work for opened the meat cutting position to women and I entered the apprentice program knowing I would have to work at a different store every day. I started traveling all over the tri-state area to train with a variety of seasoned meat-cutters. Loving my coffee, I needed something that would keep it fresh and hot. That's when I bought my `jug`. Also, I'm an avid fisherman, so it is with me on board our boat on every trip. It is a rare thing to see me leave my house without it. It is banged up, scratched and the cup has been replaced several times. It has fallen out of my truck and I ran over it. It was used to throw a rope to a tow boat. I even transported a live goldfish in it once. Its life keeps getting more interesting.
