My Stanley thermos has always been by my side every work day for the last 42 years! I have relocated, changed jobs and I have continued to make my coffee each day and take it in my Stanley thermos.
After all these years, my Stanley has started to and has a few dents on the bottom. At my job, some young adults started to poke fun at the looks of Stanley and asked me why I was so cheap. They told me there are better looking thermos bottles that I could purchase. I told this to my son and he decided to paint Stanley. He did an excellent job priming and repainting. Even put my name on it! Now to my dismay, I dropped Stanley, the lid popped off and the stopper broke. I am in the process of reordering but I have my doubts that there is a replacement. My wife ordered a new Stanley, just in case but it won't be the same.
My old Stanley is full of memories. I enjoy my hot coffee and can reflect over many years that we've been together!

When I was growing up (I am a grandma now), my dad always used a Stanley thermos. It was so beat up that I ask dad: why don't you get a new thermos? He said that Stanley made the best thermos and he didn't need a new one.
Now I need a thermos and so this is the only thermos that I want.

My Grandfather was a cowboy for almost 50 yrs. In that time, he out-lasted several horses, trucks, and trail bosses. He had 4 kids, 10 grandkids, built 2 houses, outlived his first wife, and then remarried and all along had one Stanley. My grandfather gave me his Stanley 10 yrs ago, (I was his favorite) and I use it for coffee everyday. And think WOW the stories my Stanley could say!

I love my Stanley. Have you ever had good sweet tea? Well, having a Stanley is like having great sweet tea all the time for free. I make fresh hot tea add my way too much sugar and seal it up tight. Then during the day I fill a large glass with ice and pour my fresh hot sweet tea right over the top. WOW that is deeee licccious! I do this several times a day. You can't stop me.

As a teenager and early 20 year old, I worked at various agriculture jobs and at different times, I would be bailing hay, harvesting some crop or preparing the land for the next season. One fall, I was working in an almond orchard harvesting nuts and as usual, I had my Stanley thermos of coffee on the tractor. I had been working for several hours when I noticed that my Stanley thermos was gone, so looked around the area where I was and decided that it was gone. As I continued to work in the orchard, I happened to look across and saw something shining. I stopped the tractor and walked over and saw the edge of the stainless steel bottom of my thermos just barely showing above ground. It had fallen off the tractor and I had run it over and it was almost completely buried except for that shiny edge that had caught my eye. I continued to use the same Stanley thermos for the next 30 years (approx) until today, when I purchased a brand new one.

I went fishing one morning in the spring of 2004 at a pond that I liked. After catching a few croppies, I strolled back home without my thermos. I did not return till the next year, to fish again. When, there by the brush where I left it was my thermos. I figured that someone would have noticed it right away and took it home, but to my surprise, it was still there wrapped in its vinyl leather type case. My Stanley thermos…she goes everywhere with me now.

As a Police Officer, when Radar Speed Guns were being introduced, whilst carrying out my traffic duties, a Stanley was pointed at a speeding vehicle and the driver - thinking we were using a Radar Gun - braked suddenly and stopped. My grandfather would make sure of all his fishing gear and tackle box, load them into the trunk of a two-tone 1956 Chevrolet 210 sedan and go back to get our lunch bucket, packed full of sandwiches, chips and snacks. My grandmother would give Grandpa his Stanley, full of coffee, and we were off before sun-up to our favorite spot on the river. On one particularly cool morning, I asked Grandpa what was in that big bottle of his. He gave me my first taste of coffee and laughed at the face I made as I swallowed.
After a few more exposures to the stuff, with the addition of cream and sugar, Grandpa had a coffee drinking fishing buddy that was all of seven years old. Of course, that merited getting me a Stanley, like Grandpa's. Where that original one is, I don't know now. The one I have currently (a new 1.1 qt) had to replace a lost one - a seasoned veteran of 18 years. Before it was lost, I had the privilege of seeing the same grimace on my grandnephew's face that was on mine, as he had his first taste of coffee from my Stanley. These are more than just containers for beverages. They have the absolutely wonderful capacity of keeping memories warm and vivid too. These memories need to be collected and published in hardback book form. This is the best of America, its people, and why we are so darn unique.

I purchased a Stanley thermos about 30 years ago. I worked for a company for 22 years, until April of 2003. I am married to the same wonderful woman today. The thermos almost stayed with me as long as she has. But anyway, I had a heart attack in April of 2003. I had to have 5 bypass surgeries. I was out of work for a few days. Ha,Ha. Actually about 10 weeks. But while I was out, the company filed bankruptcy and pad locked the doors. I guess they have sold the building now, and my bottle was left inside. Someone else may own it or may have thrown it out. I’m not sure. But I don’t have it any longer. And what made me think about it is my wife’s uncle is in the hospital now. She wanted to make him some coffee to take to him but we do not have a thermos now, so she could not. I am 49 years old. I am back at work in a new job. I will get another Stanley thermos one day. But I can’t use the one you are giving away anyway. Mine was a 1 qt.bottle. A half qt. would only tease me. I drink that much at one break. I buy cups of coffee from the vending machines now, but I hope that to change. My wife makes the best coffee!! And for the best coffee, you need the best thermos!! Thank you again for your time.

My favorite Stanley memory is when my brother and some friends went pheasant hunting back in the sixties. I had a thermos brand bottle and my brother had a Stanley. We were hunting in November when it was very cold; by mid afternoon we were cold and decided to have a cup of coffee. I poured mine from my thermos brand bottle and my brother poured his from his Stanley bottle. My was at best luke warm and my brother’s was nice and hot. I decided right there my next thermos bottle would be a Stanley, and I have used one every since.

Our Stanley travels with us everywhere, about 10 years ago, we had stopped and let the horse out as we were traveling just before dark. We were all loaded up and heading to our destination about 25 miles down the road. The Stanley thermos was on the floorboard of the pickup and it must have fallen out when we got out or got back in the pickup.
After we had finished getting our camp all setup, we started to unpack the pickup and put things in the trailer. That is when we noticed the thermos was missing! Since we had unhooked from the trailer, we got in the pickup, drove back to where we last stopped and there on the side of road -- the cup was smashed, the thermos was dented, we had ran over it with the trailer as we drove off. To this day, we still have this thermos and expect for all the scratches and dents it is the best thermos we have ever owned and keeps the coffee hot!

My husband uses a Stanley thermos at work. He is a self employed builder. His Stanley had held up very well until the day he left it sitting on the tailgate of his truck. It fell off and he ran over it, smashing it into an oblong size. This happened a few years ago, if not I'm sure he would still be using the same one today.

In 1967, when I went to Vietnam as a Seabee, I used military tools to build with. I sent home for my personal hammer and my Stanley unbreakable thermos. I was the envy of my platoon with my thermos full of either hot coffee, cold water or ice cream when our ice cream maker was working. I carried that into the field.
Unfortunately, 8 months into my tour I was riding in the back of a 6 by truck when my Stanley bounced out of my hand off the truck and was run over by the tracks of an armored personnel carrier following behind.
I have worked as a carpenter and carried a Stanley for 40 years. That is the only time I had to replace a Stanley because of damage. I WOULDN’T THINK OF GOING TO WORK OR ON A TRIP WITHOUT MY STANLEY :).

When hurricane Charley came through Saint Cloud a few years ago, I had no electricity for a solid week. I had to jerry rig a method of making coffee using a strainer, a filter and a small gas burner. It was time consuming but I really needed some hot coffee. The best thing is that once I got the coffee made, I was able to put it in my Stanley bottle and it kept hot all day even though I kept opening and closing it to get a half a cup at a time.

I once set my Stanley Aladdin Thermos on the bumper of my pick-up truck, while I was having lunch. I went back to work and then when the day was done I got into my truck, drove my truck 23 miles on a curvy, hilly, rough road home, up my steep driveway to my home, when I got out at home I remembered my Stanley Aladdin Thermos, went to the front of my pick-up only to find my coffee was still in my cup and my Stanley Aladdin Thermos was where I had set it down; on my bumper.

About 40 years ago, my dad and uncle, who both came from Italy, were fixing a sink. We were at the hardware store for some parts when my uncle told my dad to wait. “I need to get a new thermostat. The old one broke,” my uncle said.
My uncle asked a clerk where the thermostats were and he pointed us to an aisle. My uncle looks at them and says those aren't the thermostats he wanted. A few hours later, we had to go back to the store to get a new trap and dad said lets go to Heck's because they may have thermostats.
My uncle asked a clerk where the thermostats were and the clerk said if they had any thermostats, they would be in hardware. My uncle couldn't find them. Dad finally asked my uncle what kind of thermostat he wanted. “For my coffee,” my uncle said. Dad said something in Italian, my uncle replied in Italian, and we walked over to housewares where dad picked up a Stanley thermos and told my uncle, “This is the kind of thermostat you need for coffee.”

I'll start out by saying I've had this Stanley for a week. They are great, so I bought a new one. The problem is...I keep giving mine away.
One of the cultural customs of Uruguay is to drink a hot tea (yerba mate) from a gourd with a metal straw. They heat up the water and put it in a thermos. They pour the hot water into the gourd, over the tea and sip it up the straw. I started sharing in the custom and procured my own gourd, straw and tea. Then I bought a normal plastic and glass thermos to go with it.
Biggest mistake was buying that kind of thermos. By the end of a couple of weeks I had kicked one and broke it; knocked one against the cabinet and broke it; and the third one fell. I vowed I'd buy a good thermos. So I went out and bought a Stanley.
But in Uruguay, they are costly so I purchase them when traveling through the US. I noticed my friends needed better thermos also, so I usually give mine to a Uruguayan friend for their birthdays. Then buy a new one on my next trip.
I have bought and given away several. That is why I now have a new thermos. I gave the last one away, and now (while in the US this year) I have purchased a new one.

In November of 1979, my husband and I were taking a trip to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving. On our way out of town, we stopped at my husband's office and he opened my car door and my thermos rolled out ---- breaking it as it was the old “glass” type.
That Christmas, my husband bought me a replacement thermos ---- a beautiful STANLEY ALADDIN but it was unique ---- it came with a leather carrying case. I have never seen another one like it. Even though it is nearly 30 years old I still have it and the thermoses.
The thermos went with me to work, on vacations, work projects, etc. Everyone used to kid me about my thermos as it was really beat to pieces. Most of the paint is gone now from rolling around in our vehicles while on vacation.
Alas --- I just returned from a trip and my thermos has finally bit the dust. It will no longer hold the heat even with filling it with boiling water.
I miss my “friend”.

I purchased my Stanley not even a week before I went over to the Kennedy Space Center. I knew Stanley's name and reputation from years before, when I was just a kid. I live in the Tampa Bay area now, and it's quite a hike across the state to where I purchased my Stanley. My coffee stayed nice and hot right up until the last drop. Now I take it full of coffee to work on Fridays, and after the hour-long drive - the coffee is still nice and hot.

I have two vacuum bottles for 26 years. One of these bottles fell two stories. The bottle survived the fall, but had a large dent and no handle. I fabricated a new handle and continued to use this product for coffee. I was actually surprised to find this vacuum bottle continued to keep liquids warm. I am very impressed.
Thank you for the nice products.
